All components of the Sterling Hill mine tour are designed for ease of access.
Entrance to the mine itself is on flat ground, on concrete pavement. Within the mine the walkways are nearly flat except toward the end, where visitors descend about 30 ft on a long, gentle decline. Our two exhibit buildings are accessible on flat ground, and a wheelchair ramp provides access to the gift shop. Two outdoor ramps are provided also, each surfaced with hard-packed gravel.
Handicapped-accessible bathrooms are provided in three buildings along the tour route, and passageways in our exhibit halls feature either double doors or a single wide door permitting easy access by wheelchair.
