In addition to both indoor and outdoor mineral, fossil, and gem dealers, this show features extended mine tours, day-and-night mineral collecting, a show banquet plus auction, and the twice-annual Sterling Hill Garage Sale.
The following events occur on April 28 (Saturday): (1) NJESA Gem and Mineral Show at Franklin School (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM indoors, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM for outdoor swap and sell); (2) Annual Show Banquet and Auction (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM); attendance limited to 60 people; held at Geotech Center, Sterling Hill Mining Museum; (3) Sterling Hill Garage Sale (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) at Christiansen Pavilion, Sterling Hill Mining Museum; (4) Day-and-Night Mineral Collecting at Sterling Hill (9:00 AM - 11:00 PM); organized by the Delaware Valley Earth Science Society and North East Field Trip Alliance; cost of $20/person includes extended mine tour and registration; fee of $1.50/lb. is charged for those participating in mineral collecting; preregistration required; see www.uvworld.org for information.
