Public Tours
We currently have weekend (Saturday and Sunday)tours only at 1:00 PM, except for special days. Check back for updates on special tour dates. Please arrive between 12:30 PM and 12:45 PM for the 1:00 PM tour to purchase your tickets. Tours are not self-guided, you need to go out with a guide. The museums are only available with the tour. No reservations are needed, and tickets are not sold online. Please bring a light jacket or sweatshirt as it is 56°F in the mine. The Gift Shop is open every day from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Prices for Tours:
Adults: 13 years and older $15.00
Seniors: 65 years and older $14.00
Children: 4 to 12 years $13.00
Rock Collecting on the Mine Run Dump is available and is recommended for avid rock collectors 18 and older and not for children. Sluicing would be a better option for children. Sifting of sand for minerals and fossils in our water trough is exciting for them.
PRIVATE TOURS are available for groups of at least 15 paying people. We will try to accommodate your request on the day of your choice if we have staff and space available. Please call to discuss details, availability and reservations. Reservations should be made at least 2 weeks in advance for private tours.

The Sterling Hill Mining Museum offers public tours to individuals and families according to our operating schedule, which can be viewed below. Public tours last roughly two hours during which guests will be guided through our Zobel Hall Museum, the mine, and our Warren Museum of Fluorescence. Approximately half an hour is dedicated to our Zobel Hall Museum, about an hour to the mine, and half an hour to the Warren Museum. In order to go into either of the museums or the mine, one MUST be a part of a tour: there are no unguided tours. Before or after the tour, one may go on a self-tour around the parking lot area which hosts an array of historic mining machinery and equipment.

Group Tours
The Sterling Hill Mining Museum offers private group tours for schools, home schools, universities, summer camps, scout groups, vacation tour groups, birthday parties, etc. In order to receive a private group tour there must be a minimum of 15 paying individuals in the group and the tour must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
Private Group Tours can be scheduled year round.
